Marvel’s Spider-Man Has Gone Gold

While the wait for Marvel’s Spider-Man might be difficult, we’ve got some great news to share. Insomniac Games announced today that they have finished development and Marvel’s Spider-Man has gone gold! To celebrate, Insomniac posted this humorous image below on Twitter, a shout-out to an infamous Spider-Man in turn pulled from one of the episodes of the Spider-Man 1967 animated show.

Here’s the announcement regarding how Marvel’s Spider-Man has gone gold:

Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create a brand-new and authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.

With development finished, hopefully the team at Insomniac Games can breathe ahead of the game’s release date. With press tours, streams and more to cover over the upcoming weeks, having development finished and the gold master taken for printing has to be a big relief.

Marvel’s Spider-Man releases on PlayStation 4 on September 7th, 2018. You can check out the various editions of the game right here (although the collector’s edition will likely be very difficult to find at this point). There’s also the limited edition PS4 Pro bundle, which you can check out here. If you’d like to learn more about the game, you can check out my hands-on impressions at E3 2018 right here.
