For every character available in Marvel Heroes, there is at least one or more costumes available to change the look and feel of that hero. In some cases, a hero may have several costumes (Both Spider-Man and Iron Man come to mind). Every costume available comes from either the comics or the movie versions of these heroes. Some look much better than others, and some are a downright disappointment. As an example, Human Torch’s costumes are all nearly the same; he’s on fire all the time. You will almost never see the details in any of his costumes.
Here I’ll be listing my Top 5 favorite costumes in Marvel Heroes 2016. So sit back, relax, and check out these awesome costumes!
#5 – Gambit Classic
Of all the “basic” costumes, this one is probably the best. Gambit’s classic, 1990s look is one of his most iconic appearances. This is the costume most people are accustomed to seeing Gambit wearing and it just looks great. Some costumes change the hero’s voice, but this one keeps his trademark Cajun flair and wit; obviously this is a huge plus. If you plan to play Gambit at any point, I recommend you pick up this costume for him.
#4 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 Star-Lord
Since the release of the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, more and more people are getting to know Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord. As a result, they will be most familiar with this look. Star-Lord’s default costume may be a bit more acceptable for comic die-hards, as it’s based on his original comic look. The vast majority of players will recognize his now iconic red coat and sleek space mask. There’s also a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 costume available, YET it does not have his mask on. It may be more detailed than the Vol. 1 costume, in my opinion I’d rather run and gun baddies throughout Midtown with this look!
#3 – Defenders Doctor Strange
Another now prominent character thanks to the MCU film, Doctor Strange only has a hand of costumes. Of course he has his Movie costume, but in my opinion this one is more distinguished. This look is based on his time with the team known as the Defenders. This team included Doctor Strange, Silver Surfer, Namor the Sub-Mariner, and the Incredible Hulk. They didn’t always work together well, but they performed many great feats and saved the world many times. Stephen Strange has never looked as great and regal as he does in this costume.
#2 – Beta Ray Bill
I had a really hard time choosing between Jane Foster and Beta Ray Bill for this slot on the list. Fans may be familiar with Beta Ray Bill, most people are only aware of Thor himself. Even fewer are aware of Jane Foster unless they are keeping up with the more recent comics. Beta Ray Bill is one of the few characters who was deemed worthy to wield Mjolnir, and he did for a time before Odin ordered a new hammer to be crafted for him: the mighty Stormbreaker. It was just as powerful as Mjolnir, and crafted from the same dwarf star. Bill is not technically playable on his own, but with this costume you can change Thor to look like Beta Ray Bill. One of the must have costumes for those who main Thor.
#1 – Spider-Girl
Spider-Man is one of the heroes who has over a dozen costumes available. All of them are fan favorites based on his many looks and even a few of the alternative versions of him. These include Spider-Woman and Spider-Gwen. However, Spider-Girl is my favorite of them all. The costume looks very nice, and the bright wristbands offer a nice contrast to the rest of the red suit. Her voice actor also offers some great lines for the character with this costume. Of all the costumes available for Spider-Man, this one is my favorite of his bunch. I guess it is probably my favorite of all the costumes in the game.
