So Marvel’s Daredevil made some news this week as French Actress, Elodie Yung, has been officially cast as Elektra. This follows on the news that season 2 of Netflix’s acclaimed series will have a Punisher v.s. Daredevil feel to it. She is described as follows: a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) past, whose dangerous ways could be more than even the Man Without Fear can handle.
Elodie Yung has featured in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and District 13: Ultimatum. Elektra is a fan favourite Marvel character who is a deadly assassin, frequent villain and also a love interest to Matt Murdock. She was portrayed by Jennifer Garner back in 2005’s solo film Elektra (Although we shall not speak anymore of that!).
The Daredevil series is an ongoing part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and season 2 is set to preimere in 2016. Filiming began this month in East Harlem. Netflix will also be producing the Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage series as well as the Defenders team-up show in a few years time.
