Heroes of the Storm in the works for Xbox One?

The latest entry by Blizzard, the Heroes of the Storm MOBA have been available as a Windows and OSX exclusive this month and been the topic of hot debate (Should someone smoke in a space suit?). Heroes of the Storm is a mash up between games such as Warcraft, Diablo and Star Craft and sees you playing one of your favourite heroes in an open world like World of Warcraft much like Nintendo games let you play basically any character inside any game.

Console owners have been left out of the cold with this new franchise, although Diablo did make an appearance on the next generation consoles. Players have been eagerly waiting for this title to be announced on Xbox One. MOBA games have a hit miss record when it comes to consoles with World of Warcraft skipping next gen and Neverwinter being quite good since it models closely after games such as Dragon Age.

Blizzard have been teasing that their development team have been ‘toying around’ attempting to port this game to Xbox One. However there might be several hurdles to overcome given that the game is mainly built around a keyboard/mouse control scheme. Blizzard have denied that the game is officially being worked on as a console game. But who can say no to several million extra gamers joining the millions of PC gamers already traversing the world.

Free to play games have been a force to be reckoned with lately. Fable Legends and Neverwinter are the latest Free to Play games and more should follow as the Micro transaction model gains steam.

Are you looking forward to Heroes of the Storm making its way to Xbox One?
