While many of you were celebrating the birth of a new year last night Sony quietly announced the PlayStation Plus games for January 2020. The quality of the games they gave Plus subscribers last year was certainly a roller coaster with fantastic highs and face-palming lows. Let’s have a look at what Sony has in store for us at the beginning of this year.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection – You will actually get three games contained within this awesome collection. The original trilogy that premiered on the PlayStation 3 is now playable on your PS4 with some spiffy upgraded visuals. You trophy hunters will be happy because this collection has an all new set of trophies. There are even a few trophies that are exclusive to this collection. If you have already played Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Drake’s Deception, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, why not take this opportunity to revisit those awesome experiences? This also means that if you have Uncharted 4 then the entire core saga will be playable on your PS4. Hopefully Uncharted: Golden Abyss will be ported to home consoles some day.
Goat Simulator – I can sense that many of you will roll your eyes over this selection but I ask that you at least give it a chance. The key to Goat Simulator is not to take it too seriously. If you can do that then the game is pretty damn hilarious. Try to lick the hanglider if you can but whatever you do, do not summon the devil goat!
It is always nice to get a collection as one of the free games as this effectively gives us four free PlayStation Plus games for January 2020. For most of 2019 we only got two games per month. I have a feeling that Sony will be making changes to PlayStation Plus later this year as they will be releasing a new console during the holiday shopping season.
