Halloween Continues to Dominate the Box Office

Another week brings us a new number one movie at the box office. Well, actually the latest Michael Meyers movie Halloween stayed at the top of the box office this weekend. In fact, the top three movies from last week didn’t move at all. A Star is Born stayed at number 2 while Venom continued to make more money.

Venom is very close to making $200 million domestically yet the movie has passed $500 million world-wide. This should guarantee a sequel and help out the other Spider-Verse movies that are already in the works. A Star is Born is just staying strong with another $14.1 million this weekend. Even with all of the competition and the upcoming holiday, Halloween still managed to scare up a healthy $32 million this weekend. Hunter Killer brought in the rear at 5th with $6.6 million.

Weekend Top Five

5. Hunter Killer $6.6 million

4. Goosebumps 2 $7.5 million

3. Venom $10.8 million

2. A Star is Born $14.1 million

1. Halloween $32 million

Next weekend three movies will be looking to take the top spot. In fact, I can say that Bohemian Rhapsody will be taking the top spot at the box office. This is the movie that is based off of the band Queen with Rami Malek as Freddy Mercury. Nobody’s Fool and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms round out the rest of the movies being released in a large number of theaters. I’m looking forward to the WWII movie Overlord that comes out on November 9th.
