Guacamelee 2 Announced For PS4

Guacamelee 2 was announced at Sony’s press conference during Paris Games Week. The sequel to the very challenging platformer by DrinkBox Studios will be out in 2018 for PS4 and PS4 Pro. The developers promise “multi-dimensional platforming”, lots of new abilities for the player to use and local co-op for up to four people. I am guessing that “multi-dimensional platforming” refers to quickly shifting between multiple realities like we saw in games such as Fractured Soul. The player would shift to a different reality to reach a platform that did not exist in the previous dimension.

The PS4 Pro version of the game will support 4K resolution and HDR.

Will Guacamelee 2 come to non-PlayStation platforms? A statement from DrinBox Studios to PC Gamer said, “”We’re currently completely focused on the PS4/PS4 Pro versions of  Guacamelee 2, and aren’t announcing any other platforms at this time.” Considering that the original game was widely available on several platforms I think we will see the sequel make its way to PC and other consoles.
