GOG’s Winter sale has kicked off and it comes with some cool features. Outside of notable sales on classics such as the Baldur’s Gate series, the Winter sale also features:
A free copy of Grim Fandango Remastered to all account owners. This is the Day One bonus. A new free game will be revealed each day of the sale.
New list of Connect titles (which gives you a free GOG copy of any game on the list as long as you already own it on Steam):
– Age of Wonders 3
– Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition
– Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition
– Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron Game
– Diluvion Fleet Edition Upgrade
– For The Glory: A Europa Universalis Game
– Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak
– Homeworld Remastered Collection
– INSIDE
– Limbo
– >observer_
– Outlast
– Perception
– Punch Club
– Rebel Galaxy
– Rogue Wizards
– Sengoku
– Sunless Sea
– Tahira: Echoes of the Astral Empire
– The Final Station
– Torment: Tides of Numenera
It’s worth noting however that as of the time of this writing, Age of Wonders 3, Diluvion Fleet Edition Upgrade, and Torment: Tides of Numenera haven’t showed up on my list, so that may have been false reporting or simply slow site updating. Dunno.
If you spend $15 or more, you get a free copy of Hard West. At $40, you will get a free copy of Master of Orion. I anticipate doing so, at which point we’ll see if there is a third bonus game for purchases.
Last year, GOG had event pinatas you could buy to reveal a new game for your account not already owned. This year, it’s stars, $3 each, which will reveal a mystery game with a base price of $5.99 and $44.99. I bought five of these just to see. My first attempt netted me The Sexy Brutale. My second attempt garnered The Moment of Silence. My third Act of War Gold Edition. Fourth was Gun. Fifth was Kathy Rain. So, it’s a gamble, but you never know. Of the five I got, I played Gun a long time ago and quite enjoyed it. Act of War is probably the only game I wouldn’t really play. So all in all, not a bad selection of mystery game reveals.
As of right now, I’ve also bought Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death, which was a buck ninety nine, and there are a chunk of other games I am contemplating purchasing this GOG Winter sale. I’m sure you will find no lack for interesting and fun games for a price you can justify. Feel free to leave your highlighted specials in the comment section.
Anyway, happy gaming!
