Recently, Sony IR Day 2018 was held, with heads of different divisions coming together and giving reports on the state of the company. John Kodera, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, announced that God of War has sold 5 million copies in one month. (Please be aware that the source audio is in Japanese.)
This is definitely an impressive feat. We knew from previous comments that God of War sold 3.1 million copies in three days but 5 million in one month is incredible. At this point, I think God of War is definitely one of the IPs that Sony will double down on, per their comments on the PlayStation 4 lifecycle and business plan moving forward.
