Gameloft announces Xbox Live features for some of their mobile games

Gameloft has announced a partnerwhip with Microsoft to bring Xbox Live features to three of their titles published to mobile devices. The announcement was made at the Build 2019 presentation today. One of these games is Asphalt 9, the latest entry in Gameloft’s long running racing franchise. The other two titles that will be updated with Xbox Live features are Asphalt 8 and Dragon Mania Legends.

Microsoft has previously announced their intentions to open up Xbox Live and their Azure network to third party game developers to use on other platforms. To the best of our knowledge Gameloft is the first of these third party developers to add Xbox Live features to their games on iOS and Android.

The COO of Gameloft, Baudouin Corman, spoke about the partnership today. “We are thrilled to be partnering up with Microsoft to bring the Xbox Live network into Gameloft’s flagship games. As one of the first partners to support Xbox Live on mobile devices, we seek to provide to our community more ways to experience our games and extend their fun, while seamlessly continuing to bring console, PC and mobile together.”

What features can you expect to be added to Asphalt 9 and Gameloft’s other titles? Xbox Live achievements and access to your friends list. You will also be able to upload your stats to the Xbox leaderboards. There is no word yet whether other features such as cloud saves will be supported. The new features will be added to these games over the course of the year.
