FLCL is an oddball anime that originally aired in Japan in the early 2000’s. After making its debut in the west thanks to Toonami, the world learned of the boring everyday life Naota Nandaba. Of course, that all changed when a pink haired women named Haruko Haruhara “smashes” her way into his life. The show was a coming of age tale of Naota’s sexual growth and development. Full obscure metaphors and symbolism, the show left a lasting impression. After many years, it’s finally coming back.
Thanks to a deal with Adult Swim, Season 2 and 3 have been confirmed to be in the works. The new season will focus on a new female protagonist which is heavily emphasized in the trailer. No word on whether or not Naota will return, but that bandage-wearing student sure does look familiar, doesn’t he? FLCL will be arriving on Adult Swim in 2018, but for now watch the Season 2 and 3 trailer below.
