Today we get our first look at Finn Jones as Danny Rand in Iron Fist. Netflix have been filming out on the streets of New York, under the code name ‘Kick’, which has given passers by lots of time to snap photos of the actor in character. One of these photos is posted below, there are three more photos courtesy of Tumblr user Delevinged. Take a look below at Rand in his civilian clothes.
Admittedly we’re not seeing him in costume here but at least it gives us some idea of what type of guy we’ll see Jones portray. In the comics, Iron Fist is a relatively laid back sort of street fighter and it looks like Netflix are planning on rolling with this. No shoes, un-tucked shirt and an unshaven face, Daniel Rand definitely looks like he’s taking it easy.
Finn Jones is well known to audiences worldwide for his role in HBO’s Game of Thrones, where he plays Loras Tyrell. Iron Fist will appear in Netflix’s upcoming, crossover series The Defenders. The Defenders, coming out next year, will also feature Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Daredevil.
There was also some casting news dropped in relation to Iron Fist’s standalone series as the roles of Joy and Ward Meachum are filled by Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey. In the show Joy and Ward will have grown up with Daniel, until his disappearance, and so one can only guess at how they might react when their childhood friend returns after 10 years.
