This weekend Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was released. The movie didn’t fare that well with the critics as it sits at a low 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. As we have learned, the critics don’t always matter. Fantastic Beasts 2 opened with $62 million domestically and grossed $191 million in the foreign market, meaning it is now sitting at a healthy $253 million worldwide in its first weekend. It’ll be interesting to watch Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald box office results over the next few weeks.
Instant Family and Widows took the fourth and fifth spot this weekend. Neither movie grossed over $20 million domestically. Venom is close to grossing a world-wide total of $800 million. After this weekend the movie now sits at $780 million. With the holidays coming, expect some of these movies to get a boost as families have more free time to watch them.

On November 21st three movies will be coming out that have the power to topple the Harry Potter prequel. Creed 2, Wreck-it Ralph 2, and another Robin Hood movie all come out. Aquaman is nearly a month away and fans are only a few weeks away from Once Upon a Deadpool, the PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 with some new scenes. The animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is coming out on December 14th. Hopefully that movie can do well against Mortal Engines and The Mule.
