After a small leak showing up in a Reddit ad, Bethesda has confirmed that a sequel to The Evil Within is on its way. Surprisingly, The Evil Within 2 will be available before the end of the year.
The Evil Within 2 will take players on yet another dark and twisted journey into the mind of Sebastian. This time the story focuses on his lost daughter, who may or may not have perished in a house fire some time ago. The trailer takes us on a truly terrifying journey in and out of reality as we witness all the horrors that could possibly come. Sadly, the trailer is mainly focused on cut scenes and very little of the gameplay itself, but it does promise one thing that Evil Within was famous for: gory, horrible deaths.
Scored over a disturbing cover of Ordinary World, the Evil Within 2 manages to hit all the great notes in a single blow. Murderous hordes, children burning to death, and flashes of words that creep you out in the worst possible way. Everything screams that Mikami is still attached, but, naturally, nothing was confirmed.
The Evil Within 2 will release on October 13th, 2017 (Friday the 13th) for PC, PS4 and XB1.
