The official website for the upcoming E3 Expo has a new filter titled “Xbox One Virtual Reality” and as of this writing no fewer than four companies have registered under this category. While this does not qualify as an official announcement, the fact that multiple companies are registering for this specific category indicates that some sort of path to virtual reality games on Xbox consoles will be revealed next month. This will very likely be Oculus Rift support on the upcoming Xbox Scorpio console. Microsoft is said to be pursuing a partnership with Palmer Lucky whose company has already released Oculus Rift for Windows computers.
The four companies who have registered to show virtual reality games for Xbox One are:
Rebellion Games A European developer known for Zombie Army Trilogy and Aliens vs Predator. They will likely be showing Battlezone VR for Xbox One. You can see proof of their registration below.
Maximum Games – Known for distributing the Farming Simulator Series and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments.
Readily Information Company A new development studio.
3DRudder – This is a hardware developer who has produced a VR controller that is manipulated by the player’s feet.
As always, TiCGN will bring you more details as they are revealed. A tip of the hat to 00ich and Obliterator over at NeoGAF for their detective work.
