The live action version of Dumbo has overcome those doppelgänger’s to take over the top spot this weekend. Dumbo opened with a healthy $45 million domestically, while it did better in the foreign market taking in $75 million. Right now Dumbo sits at $116 million world-wide. It should end around $300 million when it’s finished its theatrical run.
Us took the second spot with $33.6 million this weekend. It looks like this horror film should sit right around where Get Out finished off in the theaters. Hopefully Us does better in the foreign markets as it sits at $46 million brought in. It is sitting at $176 million world-wide so far. Just a little shy of Get Out’s final numbers. Captain Marvel is roughly $10 million away from making that billion mark. The Marvel movie is sitting at $990 million as it brought in $20.5 million this week. I expect by Wednesday the movie will have passed the billion mark. Unplanned opened with $6 million this weekend while Beach Bum grossed $1.8 million in a limited number of theaters.

Next weekend the highly anticipated Shazam opened up. It will have some competition from the remake Pet Cemetery. I can safely say that next weekend will be a busy one for theater fans. Now following that we have Hellboy and at the end of April we have Avengers: Endgame. Right now some film critics expect the movie to have an $800 million dollar weekend. The movie does open up in China before it hits the West. Avengers: Endgame is going to break records and make a ton of money.
