On this day 25 years ago, all hell broke loose on earth when ID Software released Doom. Released on December 10th, 1993, Doom quickly became one of the pillars of the FPS genre. While ID Software has made many more fantastic FPS experiences since then including 2016’s reimagining of Doom. Which took all the classic elements of the game and blasted it into the modern era. It is safe to say Doom influenced many developers in their own projects, and now Doom is one of the most memorable FPS franchises in gaming.
To celebrate 25 years of Doom, on Bethesda’s twitter account they released a great trailer showing off the entire history of the Doom franchise up till this point. As a long time fan of the franchise, this trailer was amazing to see the whole history of the franchise packed into a quick video.
