The president of From Software is not opposed to remastering the PlayStation 3 classic Demon’s Souls even if there is a lot that has to happen behind the scenes in order for it to happen. This comment came about during a conversation between Game Informer and Hidetaka Miyazaki – the director of the SoulsDemon’s Souls franchise so the possibility of a remaster is ultimately up to them. Given that Miyazaki is reluctant to revisit the game it would have to be done by another studio. He is not opposed to that however. “If it was a studio that really loved the original work and really put their heart and soul into realizing it again, then that’s something I would enjoy.”
The original Demon’s Souls was published as a PlayStation 3 exclusive way back in 2009. While Sony published the game in Japan, Atlus brought it to American shores while Bandai Namco distributed the European version. Atlus originally planned to shut down the game’s online servers in 2011 but delayed such an action until May of 2018. From Softwtare went on to develop the critically acclaimed Dark Souls franchise while also creating Bloodborne for the PlayStation 4.
