343 Industries has made an impressive announcement. Bonnie Ross, Corporate Vice President of Gaming at Microsoft Studios and the Studio Head for 343 Industries, is being inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) Hall of Fame. Being in charge of 343 Industries, overseeing the Halo franchise and helping to promote STEM studies to women and minorities are just some of the achievements cited that have helped see Bonnie Ross inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame.
Meggan Scavio, President of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, said that “It is thanks to Bonnie’s vision and drive for combining art and technology that has allowed the Halo universe to flourish within so many different mediums and platforms. That along with her deep passion to expand diversity in gaming and encourage STEM education amongst women as well as all young people is truly inspirational. Her positive legacy and leadership have helped advance interactive entertainment and will impact game makers and aspiring game makers for generations to come.”
Bonnie Ross earned her degree in Technical Communication, with a focus in Physics and Computer Science. After interning at IBM she began working at Microsoft. Currently, 343 Industries is working on Halo Infinite, the next big Halo game.
The 2019 Hall of Fame award will be presented to Bonnie Ross on February 13th, 2019 at the 22nd Annual D.I.C.E awards by Phil Spencer. Past recipients of the AIAS Hall of Fame award include Todd Howard (2017), Hideo Kojima (2016) and Dan and Sam Houser (2014).
