Bohemian Rhapsody Stands on top This Weekend

As expected, the movie Bohemian Rhapsody took the top spot at the box office over the weekend. The movie grossed an estimated $50 million. The top three movies from last weekend didn’t have the legs to stay in their spots. The new movies that just came out easily took over the top of the box office.

Bohemian Rhapsody is sitting at $141 million worldwide. The movie has easily earned back its production budget. The movies The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and Nobody’s Fool both landed in the second and third spot respectively. Meanwhile, Halloween and A Star is Born both earned a healthy $11 million this weekend. Venom is so close to breaking $200 million domestically yet it seems like the movie will not gross over $600 million. So far 2018 has been another fantastic year for comic book movies. With the success of movies like Deadpool 2 and Venom, it seems that movies not directly set in the MCU will continue for a little longer.

Weekend Top Five

5. Halloween $11 million

4. A Star is Born $11.1 million

3. Nobody’s Fool $14 million

2. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms $20 million

  1. Bohemian Rhapsody $50 million

It seems we have a pattern forming for the next few weeks. Another set of three movie will be coming out next weekend. Overlord, Grinch, and The Girl in the Spider’s Web all look to take the top three spots. I have this insane feeling that the month of November will have a different movie on top each weekend.
