Bethesda Brings Fallout 4, Doom to VR headsets

Kicking off E3 with a bang, Bethesda has announced the virtual reality ports of Fallout 4 and Doom will be coming soon. Easily two of Bethesda’s most popular games of the last few years, these each seem like smart, strong moves into the VR world.

From the trailers, players can easily see that no corners have been cut to bring the experience of these wildly successful games to the VIVE headset, with Doom VFR also coming to the Playstation VR. From destroying everything in your path to carefully coordinating how your new home will look after the apocalypse, the novelty of virtual reality should be enough to make even existing owners want to purchase these games again. Additionally, this is a move to finally add more legitimacy to the VR craze, as players haven’t really seen AAA action in their headsets just yet.

Sadly, these are two of the only titles that weren’t given definitive release dates. However, it was mentioned at the end of the stream that “everything we showed today will come out this year.” So it’s safe to say that you’ll be able to frag away and save your bottle caps in 360 degrees soon enough.
