Bethesda Game Studios announced that they will be opening a new game studio in Montreal to expand game development. Todd Howard, Game Director at Bethesda Game Studios said “We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there.” Bethesda hired a core team of more than 40 developers along with industry veteran Yves Lachance as Studio Director. “We are thrilled to be launching the studio in Montreal and contributing our city’s great game-making talent to the kind of games that Bethesda Game Studios is known for” said Yves Lachance.
This is very interesting news. What will this studio be working on? A Fallout game? A new IP? Yves Lachance has been involved with Wolfenstein: The New Order, Dante’s Inferno, and was also Studio Director at Behaviour Interactive. With the commercial success of Fallout 4 and the forthcoming Doom game, Bethesda Game Studios is running on all cylinders and is expanding its reach into the gaming industry.
