August is right around the corner and with every new month comes another batch of free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. We have quite a diverse group this time around. Let’s get to it.
Once again we find a game launching as a Games With Gold title. Slime Rancher is a mash-up of first person, open world and life simulator gaming mechanics. You are a rancher who is setting up on shop on an alien world. Take care of your slimes and feed them the right types of food and they will produce “plorts” which you can then sell on the market. Use your profits to upgrade your ranch and equipment. You might even find a secret or two while exploring the alien landscape. This game has been in early access for a couple of years now and has been quite popular. I encourage you to try this one out when it is available on August 1st.
The tough-as-nails dirtbike game will be yours on August 16th. Trials Fusion may look like a dirtbike racing game but it is really all about the physics. Shift your weight back and forth to take on the crazy challenges and be sure to share your most spectacular wrecks!
The legendary action game finally comes to Games With Gold! A shapeshifting witch! Guns! Hair demons! If you haven’t played Bayonetta yet then you owe it to yourself to download it on August 1st.
Crackdown 3 is still a few months away but you can get a taste for destructible environments in Red Faction: Armageddon. The game takes place on Mars and you’ll find yourself among a group of humans who must live underground because the bad guy destroyed the planet’s terraformer and made the surface uninhabitable. This third person shooter will be yours on August 16th.
