In yet another slow summer weekend, Annabelle: Creation has beaten out all of the other films in theaters to make it to number one. As I see it right now, the summer movie season is practically over. Last weekend was just as slow as this oneweekend though The Emoji Movie is still in the top five.
Annabelle: Creation takes viewers back to the start of this doll’s evil existence. This is the fourth movie in The Conjuring series that centers around the works of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a married couple who investigated paranormal happenings. Currently with a production budget of $15 million, this movie has grossed $71 million worldwide. The Conjuring movie universe is set to gross a billion if this movie can stay on top for a few more weeks. Now two other movies were released that didn’t perform so well. The Nut Job 2 and The Glass Castle.

Next weekend we see the release of two movies that could take the top spot. Hitman’s Bodyguard and Lucky Logan both have a great cast featuring some funny scenes in their trailers. Hopefully this fall will be so much better then the end of summer. I really just can’t wait for the movie IT, I was a fan of the original when I was younger.
