In this current generation of consoles we have seen a broad array of fighting games. Most of which are sequels of beloved franchises such as Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, King of Fighters, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Smash Bros. While well received by the fighting game community, these games have done little to progress the genre forward. Their legacy prevents these classic titles from going beyond. Any change in the formula would receive backlash from fans accumulated several iterations ago. Thus the duty of new entries into the fighting game world is too create innovation and separate itself from the pack. Enter Absolver.
Absolver is an online combat orientated game. Ditching the classic 2.5D perspective most fighting games pursue now a days, Absolver puts a more personal emphasis on the action. With a closer view of the opponent, Absolver adds a more surreal point of interaction. The game still features high low mix ups like a regular fighting game but also adds weapons and items to the mix. Before an encounter one could choose to use an item and then begin the fight. It’s somewhat reminiscent of Dark Souls. An IGN preview shows the premise being of a  player walking through a map and occasionally finding opponents. Think Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks but less arcade like and similar to Shaolin Monks, the game supports cooperative play.
The official Absolver Twitter account mentions the game will be releasing 2017 on PC and a Console. For more news of Absolver be sure to follow us @TiCGameNetwork.
