AAA Indies – The Hidden Gems Of Gaming

For a very long time, AAA games have been held the spotlight on highly memorable and recognized games. Games and franchises such as The Last Of US, Call Of Duty, Halo, Gears Of War, Final Fantasy, Battlefield, God Of War and so many more. The gaming market is rife with these insanely funded titles. Of course though when there is a good amount of funding and the proper amount of time given, a game can be incredible. A good example of recent memory and that most people will know, is God of War. The insanely talented team over at Sony Santa Monica and mastermind Cory Barlog created one of, if not THE most memorable game this current generation.

Alongside major AAA titles, there have been many hidden gems that too few gamers have discovered. I like to call these games “AAA Indie”. You have to look at not only the big developers but to the small indie teams and studios for incredible games. A lot of these small studios and developers do not get enough credit for their work, and how impactful their games are. These are the people that are brave enough to try something completely different and new, even with such a hostile and volatile marketplace. Because of their endeavors we have been graced with treasures. The Indie market itself though is a sea of games you have to sift through to find these gems. There are simply far too many out there to name them all, but I want to give some recognition to some titles.

All of these titles come highly recommended and have made a substantial impact in gaming. Now keep in mind these games are only a handful of the thousands that are out there. Finding these types of high-quality indie titles can be difficult, so hopefully, this list will help you out. These titles are some of the stand out games of this generation and deserve to have a kind of “AAA Indie” title.
