The Oscar nominations had been announced earlier today. The DC movie Joker has the most nominations out of any movie. Joker has eleven nominations at this year’s event. Do you feel that this movie really deserves the nominations? Take a look at the final trailer if you haven’t yet watched this movie. You really don’t have an excuse to not watch this movie, it’s available to buy and rent from any digital or physical seller.
The eleven nominations include:
- Best Picture
- Actor in a Leading Role – Joaquin Phoenix
- Cinematography
- Directing – Todd Phillips
Given the fact that the rest of the competition is stellar, it will be interesting to see which movies win an Oscar. Jojo Rabbit received six nominations while Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is listed for ten. That includes Best Director. It would be great to see either Todd Phillips o Quentin Tarantino wins in that category. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is also in the running in three categories. Avengers: Endgame is only listed in one category (Visual Effects), it seems that being the juggernaut at the box office doesn’t give you any respect during the award season.

You may notice one of the better movies that were released in 2019 is missing from any list. Uncut Gems were snubbed at this years nominations.
