During Sony’s IR Day 2019 report for investors, they revealed updates sales figures for multiple titles. One such update was the news that the 2018 God of War has sold over 10 million copies.

God of War sold extremely well at launch, with 3.1 million copies sold at launch and 5 million copies sold in its first month. This update confirms that it has continued to sell well after it was initially released.
After the release of God of War: Ascension in 2013, God of War was a soft reboot for the series by Sony Santa Monica.
