Avengers: Endgame has destroyed the box office this weekend. The movie has opened in one weekend all around the world with an estimated $1.2 billion. That’s not millions, its billion. It was speculated that this could and might happen. To see it happen is just mind-boggling.
The rest of the box office did better than I thought it would. In fact Captain Marvel jumped from fourth back to the second spot on the list. That movie added $8 million to its theatrical run. Domestically Avengers: Endgame grossed $350 million and $859 million in the foreign market. Some of the records the movie broke include:
- Fastest to $100 million, $150 million, $200 million, $250 Million, $300 Million, $350 million.
- Largest Opening with 4,662 theaters
- Largest Opening Day $156.7 Million
- Domestic Opening Weekend
The Curse of La Llorona grossed a healthy $7.5 million as it sat in the third spot. Overall Avengers: Endgame had the greatest opening weekend for a film. Nothing else could have even stopped this movie. Next weekend we will see four movies released. El Chicano, The Intruder, Long Shot, and Ugly Dolls are all going to be fighting for second.
