In the most recent production update, Double Fine announced that Psychonauts 2 has been pushed back to an unknown release date. It is sad to see one of the games we looked forward to in 2018 getting delayed.
Double Fine understands the fact that they will now not make the release date they set two years ago. In a statement on the blog post they had this to say:
We love the game we’re making and we want to make sure that Psychonauts 2 is something you’ll love too — a game that carries on the legacy of Psychonauts in a meaningful and special way. We’re making great progress, but we want to make sure the game has the time it needs to shine.
Now, don’t be that sad the game is being pushed back. This just means Double Fine is going to make an even better game. The blog post also includes a video on the Aquato Family. You can watch that video below. Currently, the game is only listed to be on PC/Mac/Linux at the moment. Hopefully with this extra time a few consoles will be added into the mix.
