Rumour resurrection is reasonably common on the internet but, due to the guys over at Heroic Hollywood, this particular story is blowing in the wind once again. It all started a while ago when photos of actor Scoot Mcnairy in CGI green socks were posted on Reddit. This sparked many fan theories as to who his character in the upcoming movie could be. The Riddler, Metallo and Blue Beetle were all thrown about the place but, eventually a man who claimed to have been an extra on the set, said that Mcnairy was playing Jimmy Olsen.
In the comics, Jimmy Olsen is a worker for the Daily Planet and has close ties to both Kent Clark (a.k.a Superman) and Lois Lane. But why would Jimmy Olsen be needing CGI legs? Well, that too was addressed by the extra. According to the original source:
Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen, but with a bit of a twist. Jimmy was injured during the battle of Zod vs Superman. His legs where pinned under falling building rubble and that caused him to lose the legs. He now walks with the use of two prosthetic legs. He doesn’t blame Superman for it [his loss of legs]. He feels grateful that Superman saved the world.
It is this quote that Heroic Hollywood’s sources are now confirming. Pretty dark but what were you expecting? This is Batman vs Superman after all! It’s important to remember however that this is all very much speculation at this point.
