Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp took the top spot from Jurassic World and Incredibles 2 over the weekend. This is the first movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be released since the events of Avengers: Infinity War.

The First Purge couldn’t even take a spot in the top three. The movie actually had more time since it was released on July 4th. The movie did not do as well as the first three movies in theaters. Fortunately, the movie is making a profit since the budget for the movie was only $13 million. The Incredibles 2 grossed $500 million domestically after this weekend’s take. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom crossed the $1 billion mark as well but it seems that the movie is starting to slow down at the box office.

Weekend Top Five

5. Sicario 2 $7.3 million

4. The First Purge $17 million

3. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom $28.5

Two movies will be coming out to take on the Marvel Juggernaught next weekend. Hotel Transylvania 3 and Skyscraper will be looking to take the top spot next weekend. Marvel wont be having another movie in theaters for a little while. The next MCU movie that is slated to be released is Venom in October.
