The Curse of the Vampire Coast expansion is right around the corner but before it arrives, the Aye-Aye patch is coming to balance some things and add new mechanics to the Vampire Counts faction. Creative Assembly has also announced Free DLC Lord Lokhir Fellheart! Full patch notes will be available soon but for now, they’ve revealed the major changes coming with this patch.

Here’s the major features coming in the Aye-Aye patch:
  • Bloodlines – A new Vampire Counts Mechanic

Vampire Counts factions in Mortal Empires can now awaken powerful Lords of the five ancient Vampire Bloodlines: the Lahmians, the Von Carsteins, the Blood Dragons, the Necrarchs, and the Strigoi.

You can awaken up to three Arch-Lords from each Bloodline using Blood Kisses, a new token currency earned by assassinating or wounding characters, vassalizing factions and killing faction leaders. After every awakening however, the price will rise.

  • Heinrich Kemmler is now a standalone Faction Leader in Mortal Empires

Heinrich Kemmler has left the service of the Vampire Counts at long last. Bidding Sylvania adieu, He strikes out west to pursue his destiny! Now a faction leader in his own right in Mortal Empires, he commands the Barrow Legion from Blackstone Post, the new Province Capital of the Northern Grey Mountains bordering Bretonnia.

Here’s the details on Free DLC Lord Lokhir Fellheart:

The KrakenLord of the Dark Elves will be playable in both the Eye of the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaigns. He enjoys massively reduced upkeep (by 50%) on any Black Ark Corsairs. He also doesn’t have to perform a Black Ark Rite to recruit a Black Ark. Instead, he can recruit one for each port he controls. In place of the Black Ark Rite he can perform the sacrifice to Anath Raema, granting Black Ark Corsairs the Cause Fear and Stalk traits and bestowing additional armor on Kharibdysses. Lokhir Fellheart is not part of the Aye-Aye patch and releases on November 8th, 2018.

Free DLC like this is always awesome, such as when Creative Assembly released Tretch Craventail as a free Lord earlier this year. For more information on Lokhir Fellheart check here.
