The Yakuza franchise has been a highlight of the PlayStation 4 with Yakuza 0 bringing an introduction to the series for a whole new group of gamers. With Yakuza 1 & 2 receiving full remakes and being renamed to Yakuza Kiwami 1 & Yakuza Kiwami 2. Yakuza Kiwami 2 comes to the west on August 28th, 2018. Fans of the series have been spoiled in being able to play through the classic Yakuza games again with Yakuza 0 being a fantastic prequel. The games have been received well, so well in fact that Sega announced today that Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 will be coming to PlayStation 4.

Gematsu broke the news as Yakuza 3 was featured in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation, more information was then detailed in an issue of Weekly Famitsu. The magazine details that there will be no additional content for in the remasters and they will run at 1080p resolution and 60 FPS. Sources indicate that Yakuza 3 is currently 90% complete and is set to release on August 9th. Now North American PlayStation 4 owners should not get excited yet, as so far we do not have a release date for the remasters in the west. With that being said, since Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 will be coming to PlayStation 4, with the success that Sega has found westernizing the other games, without a doubt we will see these games in the west.
