Warner Bros. releases trailers for Aquaman and Shazam

Warner Bros. is taking full advantage of their panel at San Diego Comic-Con today. After releasing a trailer for the new Godzilla film, the studio showed off a pair of trailers for two new movies that will flesh out the DC cinematic universe. You can watch both trailers below; first up is Aquaman:

Aquaman stars Jason Momoa from Game of Thrones along with Amber Heard who plays an Atlantean named Mera. The cast is rounded out with Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Aquaman’s nemesis, Black Manta. The story follows the hero, Arthur, who is half-human and half-Atlantean. He chooses to live out his life as a human until he learns that his brother Orm is plotting a war against surface dwellers (humans) who are perceived as a threat to the underwater kingdoms.

And then we have… Shazam. In all fairness, this film does not take itself very seriously and could be an enjoyable romp for those of you who like comedy in their action flicks. The titular character is played by both Zachary Levi as the teenage foster child Billy Batson who can transform into an adult superhero by saying the word “Shazam”. This will be the first movie featuring this character since 1941’s Adventures of Captain Marvel. Check out the trailer below:

Aquaman will make its debut on December 21st, 2019 while Shazam> will be in theaters on April 5th, 2019.
