Tanya Kicks Into Kombat!

Tanya

The latest addition to Mortal Kombat X is the villainous Tanya. Neatherrealm Studios has released a trailer showing off the basics of the character as well as her X-Ray move and one of her gruesome fatalities. Tanya has moves that launch at her opponent with a series of kicks, she can throw several bright yellow fireballs that she can throw at opponents. Tanya is also equipped with a staff and a close quarter weapon in some of her Variations. Neatherrealm went more in-depth with the character and her multiple Variations during their Kombat Kast on Twitch.

Tanya first appeared in 1997’s Mortal Kombat 4. The character appeared in several of the following Mortal Kombat games until her latest appearance in 2006’s Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. She was absent in following Mortal Kombat games until her inclusion in Mortal Kombat X. Tanya first appeared in the game during its campaign where she was an unplayable opponent that you fight several times. This version of Tanya was a bit different from what she will be when she launches as DLC, as she didn’t have most of her moves and felt like a placeholder character.

Tanya is the second of Mortal Kombat X‘s DLC characters following the release of classic horror movie character, Jason Voorhees, in May. Fan favorite Mortal Kombat ninja, Tremor, & the iconic movie monster, Predator, are set to be the next two DLC characters for Mortal Kombat X.

Neatherrealm also showed off the Klassic Skin Pack which includes skins for Sonya Blade, Kano and Liu Kang all based on their appearances in the original Mortal Kombat.

Tanya & the Klassic Skin Pack will be available for owners of the Kombat Pack season pass on June 2nd. The two pieces of DLC  will then be released to everyone else on June 9th for the prices of $3.99 each. Mortal Kombat X is available now for Xbox One, Play Station 4 and PC.
