Shenmue I & II Announced For The Xbox One, PS4 and PC

All of you longtime Sega fans had better sit down – Shenmue I & II are headed to the PS4, Xbox One and Steam according to an announcement from Sega’s official Twitter account. Check out the tweet below:

While the game will be exclusive to the PS4 in Japan, Xbox One owners and PC gamers will be able to experience this series for themselves all over the rest of the world. This time around the user interface has been updated for modern controllers (though you’ll be able to play with classic controls if you want to) and the resolution of the game can be scaled for your display. You will even be able to choose English or Japanese voiceovers; this is the first time Shenmue can be played with Japanese audio for a global audience.

The setting for the Shenmue games as described by Sega:

In 1986, teenage jujitsu artist Ryo Hazuki returns to the dojo of his father, Iwao Hazuki, only to witness his murder by a Chinese man, Lan Di. Lan Di steals a mysterious artifact known as the Dragon Mirror. Ryo vows to avenge his father’s death and sets out tracing Lan Di’s path.

The Shenmue games were originally released in the years 2000 and 2001 for the Sega Dreamcast. The games were quickly embraced by fans who found themselves enamored with the astonishing level of detail found in Ryo’s world.
