Redbox Will Not Carry Games in 2020

Redbox will no longer be dealing with video games. Players can no longer rent video games at their local Redbox. Sadly this ends one of the few ways players can check out a game before buying them. I actually had the chance to play Death Stranding before I decided not to purchase the game at full price. Now I can go to my local Redbox and buy it for less, games will be on sale until the end of the year.

The Verge actually received a response from Redbox representatives on this matter. they stated that:

“Permanently transitioning out of the games business to focus exclusively on movies.”

For players like me, this is a huge blow to the way I can try new games. In fact, the first game I reviewed was rented from one of the machines. Be wary that I didn’t do the best when I first started writing about video games. Right now you can purchase Death Stranding and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order for the low price of $39.99. Don’t expect to actually receive a case like you would when you buy a game from a normal store. You can find a machine that sells games by going to the website or by using the app on your mobile device.

This actually won’t be the biggest change coming to gamers. In fact, Playstation and MLB have announced that MLB The Show will no longer be a Playstation exclusive in the near future.
