Last Jedi Took the Weekend, Nearly $500 Million

Star Wars easily dominated the box office over the weekend. With no real competition and a huge demand from an unwavering fan base, The Last Jedi grossed $220 million in its opening domestic weekend.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been critically praised yet the fans are divided on the movie. We here at TiCGN.com have two points of view for you to enjoy. The movie will easily pass $500 million worldwide by tomorrow afternoon. The movie is currently sitting at $494 million from the box ooffice. The animated film Ferndinand featuring WWE Wrestler John Cena came in second with a respectable $13 million. The movie had no real way to beat Star Wars.

In a few days the box office will be getting crowded again. The Greatest Showman, Jumanji 2, Downsizing, Father Figures,and Pitch Perfect 3 all come out. This group will easily take away some of the revenue from The Last Jedi. Given the fact that three of the top movies have grossed over $1 billion this year it will be difficult for Star Wars to get that far. Yet Disney is already winning this year.
