Top 4 Anime for the Summer Season!

Now that the summer season of anime is starting, there aren’t many shows that stand out at the current moment. Fortunately, I have found 4 Anime shows that stand out above the rest. Here are the top 4 anime for the summer season.

4. Love and Lies

“In order to increase birth rates, Japan implements a capability calculation that assigns partners to young people when they turn 16. Yukari Nejima confess to his childhood crush Misaki Tazaki, only to find out he has been assigned to Ririna Sanada.”

Love and lies is a unique take on couple pairing that you usually don’t see in anime. The first episode started off with a bang and have you caring for the main characters early on. Don’t be surprised if this will be the best show by the end.

3. Katsugeki! Touken Ranbu

“The year is 1863, Japan is split between the pro-shogunate and anti-shogunate factions. In this chaotic time, the era of the swords is coming to a close. Horikawa Kunihiro has manifested as a Sword Warrior and is joined by Izuminokami Kanesada, a warrior who served under the same master as him. Sword Warriors are “Tsukumogami”, spirits and willpower that reside within a sword. These spirits are awakened by Saniwa to protect the world from the “Time Retrograde Army,” who were sent by historical revisionists from the future to alter history.”

A new show from studio ufotable the studio behind the hit Fate series. If you know studio ufotable, then you know that the art and animation will be breathtaking. So far this show seems promising with some good characters and it has a interesting concept of time travel.

2. Clean Freak!

“Aoyama kun is a hot, young soccer prodigy who plays midfielder for the National U-16 Soccer Team. But he’s also an extreme germaphobe! The TV anime adaptation of “Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama kun!” (Clean Freak!! Aoyama kun) portrays the friendships he forms and the challenges he overcomes in a “spotless” coming-of-age story!”

Clean freak is a fresh new take on sports anime. The fact that the star prodigy is a clean freak and that he doesn’t want anyone or anything to touch him is completely hilarious to me. Most sports anime have their laughs and their comedy relief but from the main character not so much. This is a good watch for those who would like to watch a nice show that so far doesn’t seem to take itself to seriously.

1. Faster Finger First

“Bunzou High School is welcoming its new first-year students. One of them, Koshiyama Shiki, is chosen to participate against his will in an impromptu fast-buzzing quiz meet by the president of the Quiz Bowl Circle. As a quiet boy who loves reading and doesn’t want to stand out, Shiki is overwhelmed, but his classmate, Fukami Mari, is able to hit the buzzer and answer questions before the full question is given. As he watches her, Shiki realizes that there’s a point in each question where the answer becomes certain.”

Faster Fingers First was a surprise to me, especially since its about quiz bowls. The main character is fairly typical and what you’ve most likely seen before; very shy and timid but comes out of his shell for his team in the end. Regardless of that fact Faster Finger First has the potential to be very good and is something that you should keep on your radar.
