Check out the first trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Warner Bros. is taking advantage of its panel at San Diego Comic-Con today to reveal trailers for three of the studio’s upcoming movies. The first trailer they released today was for the epic monster flick, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Watch the trailer below:

This movie will be a sequel to the 2014 Godzilla which was directed by Gareth Edwards. The sequel is directed by Michael Dougherty and features Millie Bobby Brown who you might recognize from Stranger Things. The new movie’s premise is that the planet has called upon its natural guardians – the Titans – to eradicate the planet’s sickness (unfortunately, we humans are the sickness.) One scientist from the film ominously warns that all of the Titans must be found to ensure the planet’s (and our) continued existence.

The trailer shows off several fan favorites from the last few decades like Mothra and the three-headed beast King Ghidorah. Let’s hope for some epic titan brawls in this movie.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters will premiere on May 31st, 2019. You can also look forward to Godzilla vs. Kong which is scheduled for a 2020 release.
